Why us
Private households carry more than what's inside their four walls. They hold a family's lifestyle, heirlooms, ways of living, and the small details of what's liked and what isn't. When all of it lives in one person's mind, the whole system is at risk the moment that person becomes unavailable.
At the most basic level, a household runs on upkeep: the brick and mortar decisions, maintenance schedules, and the physical care that keeps a property functioning day to day.
One level up are the details that shape how a home actually feels: the scents and brands that belong in it, the delicate care certain materials require, the exact way things are expected to look and perform.
Further still are the dimensions attached to the people who live there: how they eat, what they wear, the vehicles that move them, what they value, where they spend their time.
And at the most delicate level is the care extended to the people themselves, who looks after their loved ones, who makes sure they are protected, who supports their day to day wellbeing, who understands their relationships, and who holds the full picture of it all. This is the layer most often overlooked, because it's the hardest to see and the easiest to leave in one person's hands.
Some families have one person for each of these layers. Most have a few people holding pieces of it, and the picture stays fragmented. One principal may know the everyday workings of the home, another may track the paperwork and payments, a family office may manage certain assets from a distance, an insurance company collects value and protection, and somewhere in between, the functional details float. Everyone knows part of it. No one place holds it all together.
This isn't something that belongs on a spreadsheet, easily misused, easy to forget to update, without the security or clear lines of communication a household actually needs to run cohesively.
Maison Standard exists to help households run smoothly through safe systems, clear standards, documentation, roles and responsibilities, for the principals and their support system.
